How we use information

OpenAI and AI data processing
Before cAIerra sends any personal data to a third-party AI service, the app clearly identifies OpenAI as the recipient, describes the data categories and purpose, and asks for your separate, explicit permission. No personal data is sent to OpenAI until you provide that permission.
After you agree, only information relevant to the feature you request may be sent through the OpenAI API. This may include career-profile data, chat messages, vacancy context, application instructions, text extracted from documents, and career-related photos, images, or files that you choose to attach. Examples include CVs, certificates, job offers, employment agreements, screenshots, and professional-training materials. This information is used to analyze your profile, support career chat, explain or summarize career-related content, assess opportunity relevance, recommend professional development, or prepare requested CVs, letters, and application materials.
When an attachment must be read directly by OpenAI, cAIerra may temporarily upload that file to OpenAI for the requested analysis and issues a deletion request for the temporary OpenAI file after processing completes. OpenAI may still process or retain limited service or security data as described below and under its applicable business terms, data-processing commitments, and legal obligations.
You may withdraw AI-processing permission in Profile → Legal & Privacy. Withdrawal stops new personal-data processing through OpenAI, but it does not reverse processing already completed. You may also delete your account and related cAIerra data in the app.
cAIerra does not enable optional OpenAI API data sharing for model training. OpenAI API data is not used to train OpenAI models by default unless the API customer voluntarily opts in. OpenAI may process or temporarily retain limited service or security data under its business terms, data-processing commitments, and legal obligations.
Other service providers
Providers needed to operate the service may include Apple and Google for authentication, RevenueCat for subscription-entitlement management, Expo for app and push infrastructure, OpenAI for user-authorized AI processing, Meta for advertising attribution and performance measurement, and contracted hosting, database, private-storage, monitoring, and support providers. They receive only information reasonably necessary for their services. cAIerra contractually requires processors that receive personal data, including OpenAI, to provide the same or equivalent protection required by this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Advertising attribution and App Tracking Transparency
cAIerra does not sell personal data and does not use your career profile, uploaded documents or photos, chat messages, or AI conversation content for advertising. The iOS app uses Meta's SDK to measure app installs and advertising performance. On iOS, advertiser tracking is enabled only when you grant Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission. If you decline or revoke that permission, cAIerra disables advertiser tracking through the Meta SDK.
Uploaded documents, photos, and user content
When you take a photo through cAIerra, choose an image from your photo library, or select a file, access is initiated by your action and, where applicable, the device permission you grant. cAIerra does not continuously access your camera or photo library.
Photos, images, documents, and other files you attach to the Agent are uploaded to cAIerra's private storage and associated with your account as user content so the requested analysis can be performed. They may also be used to extract professional information, support your career profile, explain career-related documents such as employment agreements or job offers, assess opportunities, recommend professional training, and prepare application materials.
Uploaded content remains subject to the retention and deletion rules below. You can remove supported uploaded documents and files from cAIerra, and account deletion removes related active-system user content subject to mandatory limited retention. Do not upload content that you do not have the right to use. Consider removing or redacting sensitive information that is not needed for the career-related feature you are requesting.
International data transfers
OpenAI and other providers may process information outside Armenia or your country. cAIerra uses applicable legal transfer mechanisms and contractual safeguards. Where an authority approval is required, a transfer is made only after that requirement is satisfied.
Data retention and deletion
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods depend on the type of information and the reason it is held. Limited transaction, security, legal, and backup records may remain for required periods.
You can delete your cAIerra account in the app through Profile → Legal & Privacy → Delete account. Deletion removes the active-system account and related cAIerra profile, documents, photos and other uploaded content, career memory, conversations, applications, and consent records, subject to mandatory limited retention. Deleting cAIerra does not cancel an Apple subscription; manage renewal separately in Apple ID subscription settings.
Your choices and rights
You may review and update profile information, remove supported documents and uploaded files, withdraw AI permission, manage notifications, export available account data, manage your Apple subscription, and request access, correction, restriction, objection, or deletion where applicable. Identity may be reasonably verified before a privacy request is completed.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and loss. No service can guarantee absolute security.
Age
cAIerra is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly offer the service to children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes may require a new in-app notice or acceptance. The current version and effective date will remain available on this page.
